These are the latest ruck sacks I have made. They are in fact my fourth batch.
I use strong, vibrant fabrics, with a soft feel. The head, tail/wings and legs are padded and so are the connectors for the adjustable back  straps. There is a button to keep the head closed and a Velcro inside the bag for added security. The bag measures a roomy 27cm x 27cm.


Estas sao a minha ultima fornada de mochilas. De facto sao a minha quarta fornada.
Emprego tecidos com cores vibrantes mas agradaveis ao tacto. A cabeca, caudas/asas e pernas sao enchidas, bem como os conectores das alcas (ajustaveis). Um grande botao na barriga mantem a cabeca fechada, mas no interior tem um velcro para maior seguranca. O saco mede uns espacosos 27cm x 27cm.

Busy, busy, busy! Muito atarefada!

I know I have been away for a long time, but it doesn't mean that I haven't been busy. I've been making so many things that I loose track of time and forget that if I don't show... no one will know.
So here are some photos of some of what I've been making:

Tenho andado bastante afastada, mas nao quer dizer que tenha estado quieta. Antes pelo contrario: fartei-me de dar ao dedo, mas como sempre, esqueco que se nao mostro... ninguem adivinha.

                       These are the new Belt-Pouches.
Inspired on the traditional portuguese "algibeiras" the women used to carry under their skirt. They are made with upholstery fabrics and  lined with cotton fabrics.

Estes sao as novas bolsas de cinto. Inspirei-me nas antigas "algibeiras" que tradicionalmente as mulheres usavam por debaixo das saias. Sao feitas com tecidos de estofaria e forro de algodao.

Fabric Books / Livros de Pano

The new fabric books

These are made with more sturdy fabrics, but still maintaining the soft feeling. Each page has a different activity, but there are diferences in the layout, in relation to the previous fabric books that I made. As a result of the feed back I got from different people (teachers, parents and the more important friends with ages between 3 and up to 8 years old) I have changed and added new activities. These are two books that seem similar but complement each other. As always, no two are the same.

Os novos livros de pano

Estes ja sao feitos com tecidos mais resistentes, sem deixar de ser fofinhos. Cada pagina continua com uma actividade, mas com disposicao diferente em relacao aos anteriores livros feitos. Como resultado do "feed back" recebido (professores, pais e os amigos mais importantes com idades compreendidas entre os 3 e os 8 anos) alterei e acrescentei novas actividades. Estes sao dois livros semelhantes mas que se complementam. Como sempre, nao ha dois iguais.

Softies / Fofetes

I had promissed to post pictures and here it is: these are the lastest Softies (a mousse, a bunny, a fox and a lamb) all with a squeak and ready to go.

Havia prometido e aqui esta: os ultimos Fofinhos feitos (um rato, um coelho, uma raposa e um carneiro) todos com apitoe prontinhos para ir.

The buterfly cycle : The buterfly hides in the cocoon and it zips up.

O ciclo da borboleta: a borboleta esconde-se no casulo que fecha com zip.

The flowers are all to button up and can be hiden under the grass; On the kitten one ties the ribbon with a knot and lace.

Abotoam-se as flores mas tambem se podem esconder debaixo da relva. No gatinho da-se o no e o laco na fitinha.

On the left page there is a wardrobe where two changes of clothes are kept.The little boy on the right wayts to be dressed. I've made some with a little girl.

Na pagina da esquerda esta um guarda-fatos com duas mudas de roupa. O menino na pagina seguinte espera ser vestido. Fiz tambem uma meninas.

These are some pages of one of the fabric books I have been making, Somehow I counldn't upload a whole selection. The other pages missing are: a bed cover to be woven, a mother duck with three ducklings (these have snaps and can be hidden in a pocket) and two cords with 5 woden beads each to count.

Estas sao algumas das paginas dos livros de pano que andei fazendo. Nao consegui passar imagens de todas as paginas. Faltam: uma cama com a coberta para tecer, a mae pato com 3 patinhos (estes sao presos com molinhas de pressao e podem ser escondidos num bolso) e ainda dois cordoes com 5 contas de madeira cada, para se contar.

These are some of the new things I've made and will be taking for the next Fairs.

There is one tomorrow at the Leicester Market - Winter Food Festival. I hope lots of people will be attending.

The next Fair is at the Leicester Guildhall, Saturday and Sunday. I will be there just on Saturday.

Algumas das novas coisas que fiz e levo para as proximas feiras.

A primeira e ja amanha no Mercado de Leicester: Festival de Inverno. Espero que muita gente apareca.

A seguinte e no Guildhall de Leicester, Sabado e Domingo, mas eu so la estarei no Sabado.

Size approx.: 15cm x 15cm x 12cm Handle: 14cm

These are made with recicled plastics. Each bag is individually made and no two are the same. The zips are os differnt colours but all are linned with cotton fabric. The handle is long enough to fit confortably around the wrist.

Feitos com plasticos reciclados. Cada bolsinha e individual - nao ha duas iguais. Os fechos de correr sao de cores diferentes mas todas as bolsas sao forradas com tecido de algodao. As alsas sao suficientemente longas para usar no pulso confortavelmente.

Size: 28cm x 34cm

These are made with a very soft fabric and cotton fabrics. Inside they have a small soft cushion with a squeaker. They are very soft and the hand embroidery adds a nice texture to the touch of little fingers. They can be machine washed.

Estes bonecos sao feitos com tecidos muito macios e algodao. Dentro teem uma pequena almofada com um apito. Macios como sao, o bordado nos apliques criam texturas agradaveis a dedos pequeninos. Podem ser lavados a maquina.

Busy, busy, busy

Sorry for being away so long, but have been busy with tomorrow's fair.
I've been finishing my felt/organza brooches, sewing labels, making fabric postcards, little purses...
